In May of 2009, the Lord brought together three people to organize and host a monthly gospel event. It was in total unity that this monthly gospel singing was to have more than one purpose. First and foremost, it was to glorify the Lord. Secondly, they were to invite good gospel muscians for all to enjoy. But as they prayed and prepared, they each knew the Lord was calling them to do something else. They were to take the majority of the love offering each month and give to a local Non-Profit. Hence, that is when the monthly singing was named, "Gospel With A Purpose" (GWAP).
In the months preparing for GWAP, it became evident that the Lord was also calling them to sing. Their blend and unity was one that could not be ignored. The three began singing together and found their time together, hosting GWAP and singing, to be a true blessing from the Lord. Shortly following, Stan Tunnell joined the group. He sings bass and has been a wonderful addition. From Stillwater, OK, Stan Tunnell, Linda Parks, Sheryl Beeler and Dale Frost host GWAP and are available to minister wherever the Lord calls them. The true heart of the ministry began with and remains to be, sharing the love of Jesus through gospel music and supporting needs in the community.
For His Purpose is available to minister at your church, for senior adult groups, benefit concerts, or for civic organizations. Anywhere they can share the love of Christ and His Word, that is the place they want to be! You might see two, three or four when you hear this group. They love to mix up the program a bit with a little variety, as their talents allow.
